Free to join, paid to keep chatting
Candy AI works like a shop window with a door you can open five times. The free account lets you browse, open any chat, read the opening message and reply. That is enough to see how a character writes and whether the interface suits you. It is not enough to build anything, because the counter is global: five messages across all characters, not five per character, and it never refills.
Why so tight? Every reply is generated by a language model, and every image by an image model. Text is cheap for Candy to serve once you pay a flat fee, which is why Premium makes messages unlimited. Images, calls and video cost them more, so those run on tokens even on paid plans.

You meet the limits in this order. The message counter goes first: after the fifth message the input box is replaced by an offer to subscribe. The image comes next: the first one is free, a second request opens the same subscription page. The creator is last: one creation is included, a second needs a plan and 10 tokens. The call button, the gift box, the live action tab and the private packs are all visible on a free account, but each one opens the paywall when you click.
No, there are no 100 free tokens
Several pages that rank for this question promise "100 free tokens" on sign-up. On our checks the free plan shows no token balance at all. The figure comes from Premium, which includes 100 tokens a month, and it seems to have travelled from the paid plan description to the free one.
That is also why calls, live actions and extra images are locked on the free plan rather than just limited: there is no balance to take them from. Tokens are bought on top of a plan, never handed out on sign-up.
Free Premium accounts and cracked versions are not a real product
Searches for "Candy AI free premium account" lead to pages offering shared logins, generators or a cracked app. Candy.ai sells no such thing. The only ways in are the free plan and the paid plans on the subscription page, paid by card and billed under the name EverAI.
There is also no official app in the stores. Candy AI is a website that you can add to your phone's home screen. Request the free image last
The image follows the conversation. Asked in the fourth or fifth message, once a scene exists, it fits much better than one asked cold.
